I Fitzsimmons nascono nell'Ottobre del 2001, dalle ceneri di un gruppo punk hc meteora, è li che si incontrano Marco e Luca. I 2 decidono di continuare a suonare e coinvolgono in questo nuovo progetto Claudio a cui si aggiungerà Lorenzo come seconda chitarra ...Il feeling è immediato... Non restava che dare una voce a questa nuova esperienza. La ricerca fu lunga: non salta fuori un cantante stabile fino all'arrivo di Giulio, che si inserisce alla perfezione con i diversi pezzi che ormai si stavano scrivendo... Da lì il lavoro comincia a svilupparsi lentamente, ma incessante. Il tempo passa e la band si arena nella monotonia della sala prove. Serve la defezione di Lorenzo per dare un scossa e visto che ciò che non ti ammazza ti fa più forte, la nostra reazione fu di rimettersi a lavorare con nuova energia, con la finalità di produrre un qualcosa. Nel dicembre 2004 tutto si concretizza con l'incisione del primo Demo, che per ovvie necessità, ma anche per attitudine, è autoprodotto. Cominciammo ad organizzarci i primi concerti in città, ma alla seconda serata, subito dopo il sound check il nostro cantante scappa nel vero senso della parola. Non lo rivedremo mai più. Era nell'aria il fatto che volesse lasciarci, ma mollarci praticamente sul palco è stata una bastardata. Passiamo mesi alla ricerca di una nuova voce che non arriva e se arriva non ci convince.Alla fine accogliamo in famiglia Guido: un vecchio amico che si rivela essere il nuovo cantante.

Insieme a Guido, dopo un breve periodo di assestamento, passiamo il nostro maggior periodo di attività live, condividendo il palco con numorosi gruppi e riuscendo anche a suonare nell'estate del 2007 la nostra prima data all'estero: un festival rock benefit a Belgrado in Serbia. L'intensa attività live ci rallenta vistosamente nella creazione di nuovi pezzi, ma dopo diverso tempo, l'esigenza di avere nuovo materiale è troppo forte. Rallentando quindi i concerti, ci possiamo concentrare sui nuovi pezzi. Il tempo passa e la band, oltre che a crescere, continua a migliorare il proprio groove e il sound si fa sempre più maturo, restando però fortemente personale. Tutto questo significa passare molto tempo in studio e un notevole impegno. Nascono purtroppo degli screzi e delle sofferenze nel gruppo in questo periodo. Una notte per diversi motivi personali nostri e in maniera condivisa, Guido lascia i Fitzsimmons, ma non prima di fare l'ultimo concerto insieme al CSA Murazzi di Torino: una notte spettacolare, un sacco di gente e riusciamo a fare un ottimo set di addio a quella formazione, con cui non abbiamo purtroppo lasciato produzioni, se non materiale unreleased e alcune compilations, ma con cui abbiamo vissuto un bellissimo periodo di amicizia: tra palchi, Kilometri e hardcore. Avventure bellissime...per questo la defezione di Guido dal gruppo, non ha comunque intaccato il nostro rapporto umano.

Con tantissima voglia di continuare e con ormai diverso materiale nuovo in continua evoluzione, ci lanciamo alla ricerca di un nuovo frontman. Passa più di un anno. Molte persone si sono messe in gioco, ma sembrava che non riuscissimo a trovare un membro stabile. In questo periodo nessun live. Dopo diversi momenti difficili, quasi rassegnati, incontriamo Enzo che riesce a rappresentare con la sua voce, il cambiamento nel nostro suond, che i nuovi pezzi stavano portando. Passiamo qualche mese suonando assieme e alla fine del 2010 accogliamo ufficialmente in famiglia Enzo come nuova voce e frontman dei Simmons.

Fitzsimmons’ adventure begins in October 2001, rising from the ashes of a punk-hardcore band in which marco and luca had met. They both decide to continue to play: they involve Claudio in the new project and soon after Lorenzo will be asked to to join in as a second guitar. The feeling was immediate, the only thing left to do was to give voice to this new experience. The search was long, there was no stable singer until the arrival of Giulio who was perfect for the interpretation of the songs that were beginning to take form. From there, things started to develop slowly but constantly. Time passed by and the band started to fall into the monotony of the routine in the studio. When Lorenzo left, our reaction was to restart working with new energy to create something worthy of being recorded in “Dracma” Recording Studio. In December 2004 the first Demo was recorded and was of course self funded. We started to organize our first concerts in town, but at our second performance soon after sound check our singer fled….we never saw him again. The fact that he had wanted to leave the band had already been hinted, but to have left us right before the gig gives us the right to call him a damn bastard…. Months passed trying to find another singer, none of the ones we auditioned convinced us, but in the end Guido, who was an old fiend of ours ,was welcomed in the family as our new singer.

After a short period of adapting, together with Guido we played most of our gigs sharing the stage with many bands. In the summer of 2007 we even managed to play our first date abroad: a rock festival benefit in Belgrade, Serbia. Because of the numerous gigs, our songwriting slowed down, but after a time the need to have new material was too great. Cutting down on the concerts, we were able to concentrate on our songwriting. Time passed, the band improved on it’s groove and the sound became more mature. All this meant passing a great deal of time in the recording studios and a great commitment.  Disagreements started to arise and a troubled period within the band began. One night, for personal and for reasons largely shared in the group,  Guido left Fitzsimmons. But not before the last gig together at CSA Murazzi in Torino: a spectacular night with a large audience. We managed to play a great good bye set to that formation with which unfortunately no productions were left,  if not unreleased material and some compilations. Even so we had a fantastic period of friendship sharing stages, miles and hardcore. Great adventures! Sad as it was, Guido’s leaving did not change our friendship.

With the desire to carry on and with lots of new material continuously evolving, we started to look for a new frontman. More than a year passed by, and it seemed that we couldn’t find a stable member. At this time, no gigs took place. After a difficult and unhopeful period, we met Enzo. With his voice he managed represent the changing in  the sound that our songs were bringing and at the end of 2010 we officially welcome Enzo in the family as new voice and frontman of Fitzsimmons.
